We’ve been busier than ever before here at the brewery. We have a label under construction as you can see. In addition to getting Gandhi-Bot out, we’ve packaged 668, and we have Alpha Weizen fermenting away in the tank. 668, The Neighbor of the Beast has been on for growlers for a week or so and we appreciate the support and the awesome feedback we’ve gotten from everyone about our newer beers. We’re in the process of finding some new tanks to allow us to keep up with demand and it will also allow us to put Gandhi-Bot out on a rotating schedule. Keep your eye our for more Gandhi-Bot in July! We’re extremely excited to be able to produce more beer and have lots of ideas for new projects.
We have a busy few weeks coming up. We’ll be in Boston for the BeerAdvocate’s ACBF this coming weekend and we’ll be with some of our favorite Connecticut craft beer titans at the Gingerman in South Norwalk next Monday for a New England Brewing Co. beer dinner. We’re pulling a few favorites out of the cellar for this one.
Now that I finally got a blog post up, better get back to canning some more Sea Hag.

We were very lucky to have some friends of ours help us get in touch with a Tequila distillery in order to get some barrels to fill with our double IPA. Unfortunately when the barrels showed up last week we realized that the barrels had been varnished for display purposes. Rather than release a poison beer we went ahead have set up a new shipment of used tequila barrels with clearer specifications and will be filling them with the second batch of Gandhi-bot. The release of the Tequila Barrel Aged beer will be delayed a bit but are still super excited to get this project released in the very near future.
In other sad news from NEB,
Atlantic Amber 1989 – 2010
At age 21, Atlantic Amber died peacefully in its sleep surrounded by family and friends. Amber was the flagship beer of the Norwalk New England Brewing and faithfully served the craft brew market for 21 years. Amber’s most memorable time came in 1993 where he was awarded the Great American Beer Festival gold medal for the Altbier Category. In later years Atlantic Amber was reincarnated in Woodbridge CT and was proud to be one of the first craft beers packaged in a can.
Atlantic Amber is survived by Elm City Lager, Sea Hag IPA, Imperial Stout Trooper and the rest of the NEB family. Instead of flowers, please support your local craft brewery.

The blog is finally back up and rolling and here at NEB we’ve been busy planning for our new year. There’s alot that we’re excited about. We have new beers in different stages. Our new double IPA, Gandhi-Bot is in the tank and drawing closer to being packaged. Our Belgian Strong Golden Ale, “668 – The Neighbor of the Beast” will be up shortly after Gandhi-Bot hits shelves. There are Cabernet Barrels nestled away filled with critters that are quietly going to work on their contents and a few other barrels waiting to be filled as well. Bottles for Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout Trooper are on their way and we’re getting ready for a day of bottling next week. See! Lots happinging here at NEB.
We’ll be getting out the old 5 gallon homebrew set up and start banging out some pilot batches for other upcoming projects we hope to be sharing with everyone in the near future.
Next Friday we’ll being gearing up for another Final Friday and we can only hope the weather will be as nice as it has been the last few days. Never Ready will be playing and fresh beer will be flowing!
